 is not only a visible scenery, but also a visible legend.

This new work, following the "Dongxing inorganic terrazzo" perspective, immersive experience of the "Peking University/School of 

Mathematical Sciences" new building, link to the core of the Dongxing brand, design as a bridge, to create a new experience, fully 

feel the building full of love of the millstone order, embrace infinite associative energy.

DESIGN | Repair the old and mould the new

Revitalize the space tension of new and old buildings

As one of the first historical buildings in Beijing, the teaching building of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University, 

namely Zhihua Building (formerly: Electrical Education Building) transformation project requirements,While keeping the facade and building area of the 

electrical education building unchanged, local adjustment and reinforcement, improvement of seismic and fire protection grades are carried out to make it 

meet the latest building codes and use needs.

Dongxing inorganic terrazzo has the advantages of fire and flame retardant, smokeless poison, freeze-thaw resistance, 

corrosion resistance, wear resistance and so on. In addition, the product variety is rich,Stable performance, cost-effective, 

not only accept the private customization of color, but also can process all kinds of craft surface, 3d pattern customization, 

shaped shape, etc., become one of the main material selection of many public functional Spaces.

In this transformation,Dongxing inorganic terrazzo takes into account history and the future, carries out demolition and

DESIGN | Redefines

The beauty of architecture comes from the loading of art

Dongxing inorganic terrazzo has always maintained a slender perception of beauty. In order to let the reinforced cement 

breathe, in the choice of terrazzo color, the design team selected three classic terrazzo pieces of fantasy black, pearl white 

and Changzhou gray for space decoration.

Skip the inherent style of the grinding stone, play with the grinding stone art parquet, and place the natural rich pattern 

between the buildings.

At the same time, this case always runs through the principle of matching comfort and beauty, in the design and construction

process, the overall frame color is natural and comfortable, The terrazzo texture is warm and moist, the texture is full.

Turn around for a moment, the sky, the shadow of the tree, the fragrance of flowers, can collide with the vitality. Under the artistic

ingenuity of space, living together with nature, in a peaceful, comfortable and inclusive spiritual home, easily create a space 

atmosphere,but also bring unique memories to the future life of Yan Yuan.

DESIGN | connotation space

To restore the beauty of nature and humanity

In order to make the scale of the building more friendly and comfortable, the hall of Zhihua Building adopts terrazzo 

art parquet design pattern to arrange and combine, and places interesting places to strengthen the "sense of unity" and 

"sense of line" between the buildings.

The pieces fall on each other and feel the infinite change of beauty. The contemporary nature of the space is constructed

 with artistic forms. The overall space combines the traditional Beijing architectural charm with the pioneer of contemporary space. 

The collision of ancient and modern forms a continuation chapter of harmonious symbiosis, creating a harmonious rhythm of poetic

 and fashionable interweaving.

The small and medium-sized public Spaces interpenetrating the buildings are open and shared, which are the main fields for 

teachers and students to exchange and learn in Yan Yuan, but there are less decorative languages.

Different functional Spaces are divided mainly through different shades of terrazzo, so that the public space remains open and

 shared, while the superstructure can ensure the privacy and sense of belonging required by daily classrooms.

In addition, the building layout adopts modular design, light and simple, and the lower podium derives different interfaces according to the 

spatial characteristics.The color of the entire space is stained with the unique tone and agility of terrazzo, and when you first enter

 the space, you seem to enter the elegant art painting.

The overall space presents the echo and resonance of different fields through the connection of space definition and the interaction of

 artistic parquet and architectural form, endowing the space with the broadness and clarity of spirit.

Dongxing inorganic terrazzo dance with the old building, adding bricks and tiles. The artistic expression from point to point is walking in the 

cultural heritage and fireworks of Yan Yuan,becoming the witness of its life precipitation, replacement and regeneration.
